Serving: Who wears short, shorts?! YOU

Your guide to how to look great in shorts for the summer.

I’m back at it! I went on a brief break but I’m back and ready to continue to serve you your dose of fashion and beauty! This weather this holiday weekend, has been dumb with this rain. But when the hot weather is consistent, we need pieces to keep us cool during the hot, humid, and muggy DMV summer months! I’ve got you covered!

On today’s style menu, are short shorts, but with a twist. I have a love/hate relationship with shorts. They’re essential summertime staples, but for me, I can never find the right pair. The shorts that I currently own have literally been in my wardrobe for at least 5 years. Now that I’ve drop some much needed weight, I’ve been on the hunt for new ways to have fun with the summer staple. Stay tuned to the end of the post.

First, let’s discuss how to appropriately wear them. You must find the pair that works for your body and that are the most flattering. If you are not a fan of your legs, you can still rock this summer staple by trying bermuda shorts. These shorts are about 9 inches from the waist to the knee. They give you the look while still giving you coverage. Check them out below.

If you’re like me and love to show your legs, try cut off shorts. Cut off shorts, in my opinion, are synonymous with summertime. They can be worn so many ways. Try pairing a cami or crop top with a pair of cut offs, and an oversized blazer for an elevated chic look. Or swapping out the blazer an oversized shirt or tunic for an effortless vibe.

For my look below I tried my hand at the flared out short trend. Popularized by the designer Jacquemus, this style accentuates the waist and camouflages the hips. I decided to keep the look simple my pairing it with an oversized white button up.

Let me know how you plan on rocking this trend this season .
